Ernesto appears in the drug collection mission shown in Rockstar's Extended Look on August 27 2026. He is Raymond's partner, and his disappearance is what has Raymond wary about moving product in the first place. He turns up during the exchange, and breakdowns of the footage read him as having given Raymond up to the police, either as an informant or as part of a plea deal after being caught.
One exchange between the two is quoted across coverage: Raymond tells Ernesto he has always been there for him and asks what he gets for it, and Ernesto answers 'it is what it is, my friend.' That line is the whole character as currently known. Rockstar has not published an official character page for him, so whether he appears elsewhere in the story, and which of the two readings of his betrayal is correct, are unconfirmed until launch.
