Twice the size of GTA 5
Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson puts the map at roughly twice GTA 5's and three times Red Dead Redemption 2's, with Vice City alone about twice the size of Los Santos.
30 fps, no full first-person at launch
Nelson has given 30 fps as Rockstar's console target at launch, and says there is no full first-person mode on day one, though first-person aiming is in for some weapons.
Pre-orders are live
Two editions: Standard at 79.99 dollars and Ultimate at 99.99. Every pre-order before launch includes the Vintage Vice City Pack.

Xbox Chief Strategy Officer Matthew Ball said on September 24 that GTA 6 is breaking preorder records on Xbox and that its share of preorders matches Xbox's console market share, pushing back against reporting that described the preorders as heavily skewed toward PS5.

GTA Online Business Rivalries Finale: Nightclub Goods Pay 2X, Elysian Island Nightclub Goes Free
The final week of the Business Rivalries event runs September 24 to 30 with Nightclub owners in the spotlight. Nightclub Goods Missions and QuickiePharm Deliveries each pay 2X GTA$ and RP, the Elysian Island Nightclub is free to claim, and players who finished an earlier event challenge can claim a free Penaud La Coureuse.

Rockstar Opens Pre-Orders for a $399.99 Official GTA 6 Collector's Box, Game Sold Separately
Rockstar launched pre-orders on September 24 for the Goodtime State Vice City Collection, an official merchandise box priced at $399.99 and themed around Macca the Gator, a TV show in GTA 6's Leonida. The set includes 11 branded items and ships November 19 alongside the game, which is sold separately.

Boobie Ike
A local Vice City legend who turned a street past into a real estate portfolio, a strip club, and a recording studio. Warm and easy on the surface, all business underneath.

Brian Heder
A veteran Keys drug runner who looks like a beach bum and moves like a great white shark. Jason lives rent-free on his property, with certain obligations attached.
The Music Mogul
Dre'Quan Priest
He spent his street years with music as the exit plan. Now he books acts for Boobie Ike and just signed the Real Dimez, with ambitions reaching well past the Jack of Hearts.
The Rap Duo
Real Dimez
Bae-Luxe and Roxy, friends since high school, who turned shaking down dealers into rap tracks and a following. One hit five years back, and a second shot now that Dre'Quan has signed them.
The Informant
Ernesto
Raymond's partner, missing before the collection job and back during it. Coverage of the Extended Look reads him as the reason the police arrive.
The Task Force
Mendez
The officer leading the task force that raids the building during the collection job. Only the surname has been established.
The VIP
Andres De Leon
A high-profile client who hires Jason and Lucia as security for a business event. They collect him at the airport. The evening does not stay civil.
The Connection
Raymond
A drug dealer in Boobie Ike's orbit, wary about moving product. Jason and Lucia are sent to collect from him and walk into a situation already going wrong. Also written as Ray and Rayman in early coverage.
Brian's Partner
Lori Heder
Brian Heder's third wife and partner at Brian's Boat Works & Marina. She works alongside him in the Keys smuggling trade and is known to Jason through the standing arrangement he has with Brian.
Musician
Phil Collins
English rock legend and GTA Vice City Stories (2006) veteran whose song Against All Odds plays in Rockstar's Extended Look on August 27 2026. Whether he appears in person again or contributes only to the soundtrack has not been confirmed.

Camilo
A Leonida streamer who winds up narrating a stolen-car chase to his live audience from inside the trunk of the car Lucia just took. The stream stays up.
The Returning Client
Valentina
A minor supporting character who became the first confirmed GTA Online character to return in GTA 6. She hires Jason and Lucia as private security for the Megamundo Building's grand opening and introduces them to the company's COO.
The COO
Petra Navarro
Chief Operating Officer at Megamundo. Meets Jason and Lucia through Valentina at the Megamundo Building's grand opening party. The sum of what has been shown of her is a brief introduction in a scene that quickly turns chaotic.
