The Miamian obtained a marketing pitch deck through a public records request that proposes using Miami-Dade County infrastructure as the backdrop for GTA 6's launch. Per the outlet's reporting, county officials submitted the presentation to Rockstar on June 29, with a scope spanning Miami International Airport, PortMiami, Metrorail stations, Tropical Park, and other county-owned buildings. Several gaming outlets covered the story with the direction reversed, describing Rockstar as the one pitching the county, but The Miamian's account of its own records request says the deck came from the county side, and the county's public statements frame the idea as a revenue opportunity for Miami-Dade.
The airport proposals are the most specific part of the deck. It envisions an immersive arrival experience centered on a display aircraft wrapped in Vice City logos, alongside a GTA 6-inspired baggage claim, customized baggage carousels, column wraps, themed luggage carts, limited-edition luggage tags, and coordinated airport signage during the launch window. The deck also floats temporarily rebranding Miami International Airport as Vice City Airport and placing Vice City-themed manhole covers around the county.
None of it has been formally agreed to or approved. A spokesperson for Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said: 'Our staff held some conversations with Rockstar about potential opportunities around the launch of GTA VI,' and separately: 'Nothing has been formally agreed to or approved, and any idea would have to go through the appropriate review and approval process.' A county spokesperson also said that 'given Miami-Dade's clear influence on the game, we think there could be a unique opportunity to generate revenue' for the county. Whether Rockstar takes the county up on any of it remains open.
