Scuba Diving

Full scuba gear and an underwater cave were shown in the Extended Look. Diving returns from GTA 5 with a map that has far more coast, reef and swamp water to explore.

Sighting · Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, August 27 2026

Scuba diving is one of the clearest confirmations in Rockstar's Extended Look on August 27 2026. Game Informer describes a character in full diving equipment exploring an underwater cave, and Engadget, Shacknews and Vice all list diving among the activities shown. GTA 5 introduced scuba gear and underwater exploration to the series, with wrecks and collectibles on the sea floor, and GTA 6 inherits it on a map with the Vice City coastline, the Leonida Keys and the Grassrivers wetlands all built around water.

The footage shows the activity, not its purpose. Whether there are wrecks, hidden items, or story missions underwater, how air is managed, and whether gear has to be bought or found are unconfirmed. Rockstar's Ultimate Edition copy already sells a Crest Kayak and points the Shitzu Squalo at Gambit Bay, so the water is clearly meant to be spent time on.
