GTA 6's 60 FPS Mode May Not Be Ready in Time for Launch

Polish gaming podcast Rock and Borys, citing a single insider, says Rockstar is building a 60 FPS performance mode for PS5 and Xbox Series X but is not certain it will be ready by November 19. A post-launch patch is reportedly the fallback plan.

Polish gaming podcast Rock and Borys reported, based on a single inside source, that Grand Theft Auto VI is being developed with two graphics modes for PS5 and Xbox Series X: a 30 FPS quality mode and a 60 FPS performance mode. Xbox Series S is reportedly limited to 30 FPS across the board. Rockstar has confirmed none of this, and the podcast was clear that the information comes from one person rather than multiple independent sources.

The question is whether the 60 FPS mode ships on November 19 or arrives later. According to the source, Rockstar is in a serious crunch phase to get the performance option optimized in time, and no one inside the studio can say with confidence it will clear the bar before launch. If it does not, the plan is to ship it as a post-launch patch.

Rock and Borys has a credible track record: the podcast was first to report the Witcher 3 expansion before it became official. Even so, this is a single-source rumor and Rockstar has made no public statement on frame rates or graphics modes for any platform. Treat it as a strong signal worth watching, not a confirmed feature.
