South Korea's GCRB Issues GTA 6 a 19-Plus Adults Only Classification as the Game Rounds Out Its Global Age Ratings Before Launch

South Korea's Game Content Rating Board classified GTA 6 as 19-plus Adults Only on October 16, one of the last major market ratings to land before the November 19 launch. Inven Global reported the decision and GTABoom published a global ratings roundup the following day.

South Korea's Game Content Rating Board issued GTA 6 a 19-plus classification, the category for games restricted to adult consumers under Korean ratings law. Inven Global reported the decision on October 16. The GCRB took over Adults Only rating duties for PC and console games from the government-run Game Rating and Administration Committee on November 1, 2025, making this one of the new private board's highest-profile decisions since the transition. GTA 5 received an Adults Only rating in South Korea in 2013, per Inven Global.

With the Korean classification in place, the game's major market ratings are now largely settled. The ESRB issued its M for Mature in North America on October 1, and PEGI issued an 18 rating in Europe. GTABoom's October 17 roundup also lists Germany at USK 18, Brazil at ClassInd 18, Australia and New Zealand at R18-plus, and Saudi Arabia and UAE showing 21-plus labels on regional storefronts. GTABoom also lists Japan at CERO Z, which it says cleared around October 17 after a period under review; we could not confirm that with CERO directly.

Per GTABoom, every major market has now settled on its strictest adult tier, with South Korea the last to clear. That lines up with the franchise's history and the content the PEGI description detailed in early October. GTA 6 launches November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X and S.
