GTA 6: An Extended Look, Everything Rockstar Showed in 26 Minutes

Rockstar's Extended Look premiered on Netflix at 3 PM ET on August 27, running 26 minutes and captured entirely in-game on a base PS5. The six-star wanted system returns, police now track what you are wearing and driving, Jason and Lucia can be swapped instantly while together, and San Andreas-style body customization is back. November 19 stands.

Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look ran 26 minutes on Netflix at 3 PM ET, with the same footage due on Rockstar's YouTube channel and the official GTA VI site at 9 PM ET. Rockstar captured all of it in-game on a base PS5 rather than a Pro, which answers a question the site's own hardware guides have been holding open since June. The through line is Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos working across Leonida, and the supporting cast includes names the wiki already carries: Raul Bautista during a police chase, Brian Heder smoking cigars with Jason, Boobie Ike, Cal, and Real Dimez in a recording booth. Engadget's breakdown describes a Ray, a drug dealer contact with heavy gold chains, and puts the map across Vice City, the Leonida Keys, swampland, a national park, and a seaside port.

The systems are the real news. The wanted meter shows six stars, restoring the maximum GTA 5 dropped to five, and the police no longer appear on the minimap; Push Square reports a Focus mechanic in their place. Police track your specific appearance, clothing and weapons, so swapping cars or changing clothes is a way out of a chase rather than a cosmetic choice. Switching between Jason and Lucia is instant while the two are together and takes several seconds with a transition when they are apart, and some jobs are built for only one of them. A karma track responds to what you do, petting a dog one way and committing crimes the other, alongside a Criminal Profile that builds from how you behave in free roam. The relationship between the two leads is shaped by player decisions rather than fixed. Body-type customization returns from San Andreas, so the gym and what you eat change how Jason and Lucia look. Combat gets bullet time with targetable weak spots at the head, hands and joints, dodging in hand-to-hand, and a slim jim as an alternative to smashing a window.

Away from missions, the Extended Look showed track racing, dirt and rally racing, jet skis, kayaking, scuba diving, swimming, skydiving, basketball, weight lifting, fishing, e-scooters, arcade games, nightclubs, and store robberies, plus downtime in a safehouse that Jason and Lucia share and that TheGamer describes as closer to Red Dead Redemption 2's camps than to an isolated GTA 5 property: opening the fridge, picking a drink, watching TV with in-game ads, changing clothes. Snapmatic returns as the social media parody, with the twist that neither lead can post to it because they are fugitives avoiding a digital trail. NPC interaction works the Red Dead way, holding a trigger and picking a prompt, pets included. Phil Collins is in the soundtrack. Rockstar confirmed November 19 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X and S, and made no mention of the Cyberleek leaks in the presentation itself.
