Game Informer's GTA 6 Feature Confirms Hurricanes, Names Over 170 Animal Species, and Lists Mini Golf and Billiards Among Activities

Game Informer Issue 382 published digitally on September 29 with specifics that its pre-publication announcement had not carried. Hurricanes are confirmed as a weather event in Leonida, the game holds over 170 animal species with a species breakdown, and mini golf and billiards are both on the activity list.

Game Informer Issue 382 arrived digitally on September 29 and settled one question the pre-publication announcement had left open: GTA 6 has hurricanes. The issue confirms that Leonida's dynamic weather includes tropical storms and hurricanes with dense atmosphere and torrential rain, alongside localized cloud variation, wind that moves vegetation and stirs debris, and rain that leaves persistent puddles after it clears. Push Square and Vice both reported the issue's contents the same day. The weather system is described as an evolution of what Rockstar built for Red Dead Redemption 2.

The game holds over 170 animal species in total, with more than 60 bird types and more than 30 land mammals. Named species in the feature include flamingos, pelicans, manatees, alligators, iguanas, feral cats, cane toads, armadillos, and rhesus macaques on land, with sharks, whales, rays, turtles, and jellyfish in the surrounding waters. Animals can be iridescent, translucent, or bioluminescent, and new fur systems let coats get wet, dirty, matted, or clumped. Dexerto reports that some animals fall into Rare, Discoverable, and Legendary categories, which Rockstar is keeping under wraps for now.

Mini golf and billiards are both named, and neither had come up in our earlier coverage. The full confirmed list of side activities now includes airboating, base jumping, billiards, gyms, jet skiing, kayaking, mini golf, scuba diving, street and off-road racing, and zoo visits. The issue features thirteen screenshots. GTA 6 launches November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X and S.
