NateTheHate, a gaming industry leaker with a long track record, took questions on X on July 28 and 29 and ran into the impatience building over Rockstar's lack of new footage. There has been no trailer and no raw gameplay since Trailer 2 in May 2025, though the studio did reveal the cover art and open pre-orders in late June. Asked whether the next Rockstar post might carry gameplay rather than another cinematic, he said he expects to see 'a fair bit' of GTA 6, then clarified that he meant August. On the launch date he was blunt: 'GTA6 will arrive in November as planned,' adding that Rockstar '[has] a marketing plan & they are sticking to that plan. No reason for concern.' He framed the August expectation as something he expects rather than something a source told him, an important distinction. GamingBolt, Screen Rant, God is a Geek, and Vice all covered the comments.
On July 29, the X account iGrandTheftAuto, which runs an automated monitor on Rockstar's pages, logged three separate changes to the official Grand Theft Auto VI site in a single day. Nothing visual changed. The edits were preload directives for Rockstar's five GTAArtDeco web fonts plus fresh CSS and JavaScript bundle hashes, the kind of output a routine site rebuild produces. iGrandTheftAuto flagged it himself as possibly just an end-of-month code deployment, and called it the first change his monitor had caught since late June, when the cover art went up and pre-orders opened. The last change anyone could see on the page was July 11, when the pre-order banner came down and the hero image was recropped.
NateTheHate is a separate voice from Tom Henderson, who has pointed at early August since a March podcast and more recently named August 6, the day before Take-Two's Q1 FY2027 earnings call on August 7. Two leakers landing independently on the same window, alongside a site that has started moving again, is why August is where attention has gone. None of it is a confirmed date. Rockstar has announced nothing. November 19 is the one fixed point, in an SEC filing and backed by the company's full FY2027 financial guidance.
