GTA 6 carries a PEGI 18 rating in Europe with content descriptors including violence, sex, drugs, and in-game purchases. That puts it alongside the M for Mature the ESRB issued on October 1, and neither outcome surprises anyone who has followed the series. What the PEGI 18 adds is a written content description that spells out the specific elements behind each label. Insider Gaming and TwistedVoxel both reported the full description on October 2. PEGI later pulled the written text from its site, so the wording below survives through those reports and VGC's.
On drugs, the PEGI description says use is 'frequent and prominent,' covers the player partaking alongside other characters, and lets players use illegal drugs directly from their inventory. Cocaine specifically 'can be carried around by the player and snorted directly from their hand at any time.' The violence section describes content that is 'bloody with a high degree of realism' and states that certain weapons cause detailed decapitation and dismemberment. Domestic animals can also be harmed, though PEGI notes this does not produce the same injury detail as attacks on human characters.
The sexual content section covers nudity, scenes of intercourse, and scenes involving sexual fetishes. On nightclubs specifically, the rating states that players can pay for private dances at certain venues and physically interact with dancers during those sequences. The in-game purchases notice appears on both ratings. At the September 17 shareholder meeting, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said no recurrent consumer spending is anticipated with the GTA 6 launch. GTA 6 launches November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X and S.
