Devon Pritchard, president of Nintendo of America, addressed the GTA 6 on Switch 2 question in a Variety interview published October 9. Her answer: 'That’s going to be a conversation for Take-Two and Rockstar, but nothing to announce on my end at this time.' Kotaku and Nintendo Life both covered the interview the same day.
Elsewhere in the interview, talking about the console's audience more broadly, Pritchard said: 'We’re just at the beginning of seeing what Nintendo Switch 2 can do.' Her GTA answer passes the question back to the publisher and developer. Former Rockstar North open-world designer Jérémy Hartvick weighed in during September, saying he was not sure the GTA 6 audience is the Switch audience, though he stopped short of ruling a port out.
GTA 6 launches November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X and S. No Switch 2 release date has been announced by Rockstar or Take-Two.
