Dexerto reported the confirmation on the same day, noting that Rockstar expressed pride in supporting the NoPixel team and credited them for pushing the boundaries of GTA roleplay. The closed beta opens September 8 on the Rockstar Games Launcher, with access limited to roughly 450 content creators and established roleplayers on an invite-only list. Phased access for a wider audience is planned after the initial beta window. NoPixel Public and NoPixel 4.0 continue running alongside it for players who are not in the beta.
The Twitch Drops campaign runs September 8 through September 30. The tier structure, per the Twitch blog published September 3: watching one hour of NoPixel V streams earns GTA$250,000, a second cumulative hour adds another GTA$250,000, four hours total unlocks GTA$1,000,000, and six hours total delivers the Burger Shot Tracksuit. The maximum haul is GTA$1,500,000 in cash plus the tracksuit. Players do not need beta access to collect any of it, only a Rockstar Social Club account linked to Twitch and time watching eligible streams during the campaign window.
PCGamesN, reporting September 2, described NoPixel V as a full rebuild rather than an update, with reworked character customization, new locations including the Pixel Hotel and Casino, and a revamped Cypress Flats. This is the first NoPixel server built with direct Rockstar backing, distributed through the Rockstar Games Launcher instead of the community FiveM client. Rockstar acquired Cfx.re, the organization behind FiveM, in 2023 and has been consolidating the RP ecosystem in the months leading to GTA 6's November 19 launch.
